A car that divides opinion like few others - with the exception of the XJ 220 perhaps .I saw the real XJ 13 demonstrated at the British GP in 1973. I thought it was an embarrassing anachronism - compared to its near contemporaries the GT 40 and Ferrari P2/3/ 4 it looked like something from the Pre Cambrian era . My mate swooned and declared it the most beautiful car in the world - daft bugger.
Three years later , also at Silverstone we saw the Broadspeed XJC make its racing debut - huge great thing but it was quick . At least it was until a wheel fell off ....
