Hi all,

Looking for any good books (or websites) that offer good guidance for tax planning for those who are either fully self employed (or running side ventures where tax will be potentially due under Capital Gains)? Obviously tax rules change year to year and professional advice is always best but I'd like to have a good read of some reference material.

As for the type of work think along the lines of Etsy selling, YouTube, etc

Thanks!

P.S. Any similar for accounting also would be appreciated!

Why would income from Etsy selling or Youtube be taxed as Captial Gain? It's subject to Income Tax with the applicable rules & allowances.

Sorry yes, in a muddle there! (Was thinking Self Assessment)

You can understand why I'm after some good reference materials!

Probably safest to just pay an accountant to help with your self assessment every year, wouldn't have thought it will cost much.

Self Assessment is pretty easy. I have income from my own LTD company, BTL, and other Investments. I use an Accountant for my LTD company but I do my own Self Assessment because it's simply putting figures in boxes and your tax bill appears at the end.

To get my Accountant to do it would mean giving them exactly the same information.

given the frequency with which the tax rules change i suspect any book would be out of date v quickly and therefore pretty useless.
