Alternatives to JCW Clubman?

Thinking of getting one with 4x4 when it gets slippery although it’s mainly fwd until it senses slippery moments.

Price seems a bit high for a Mini although it’s not a tiny car at £36K and an option makes it £39K.

My current F56 JCW has been fun but too noisy on run flats to commute more than a city drive. The paint and interior materials used feel cheaper than BMW at the same price. The engine and running gear have been solid.

Any alternatives? Looking at the BMW 135i M sport too or even a cheap 2 series.

The current BMW front wheel drive based 1- and 2-series are platform shared with the MINI anyway.

I like the styling of the Clubman, so that's a good reason to avoid....
