Was just flicking through an old copy of Practical Classics magazine I have dated Aug 2007, and there's a small article and photo talking about the return of the Austin Healey under the company NAC (Nanjjing Automobile Corporation). It goes on to the say that they promised to produce new Austin Healey's.

Did this never see the light of day because I've never heard of them?.

Don't know about that but I do remember back in 2003 when I was at the local Rover Dealership buying a new 75 the salesman had a copy of that week's Autoexpress in which there was an artists impression of a proposed reincarnation of the MG Midget / Austin Healey Sprite. As MG was still part of MGRover at that time I don't suppose it was anything to do with the Chinese, but don't know if MGRover had the rights to the Austin Healey moniker?

In the article it does mention about MG, so probably the same thing you saw. I got the impression they were talking about the 3000 model of Healey's (they included a photo of a 3000) than the Sprite.

Obviously it went nowhere, but it does include a photo of the BMW-era 'Project Warwick' which looks rather like a reskinned Z4.
