U2 Homecoming gigs.....

Yes I know this is a car nut forum, but in case anyone is interested, or is going to a gig in Europe or America, the show is incredible. Just spent my whole weekend going to all 3 gigs in Croke Park, Dublin. Bit of a fan. Anyway, for those who might still be yet to go, or those that couldn't, here's a small taste of Dublin over the three nights....

I've been wanting to see them since the ZooTV tour, but never got around to getting tickets.

Do you know if most venues are ok taking cameras in or did you have to hide it real good? Not even sure I will bother as i'd need one of those telephoto lenses that the paparatzi use to get a photo from where we're sat

Nearly everyone had a camera, just had it in my pocket. Have videos off it as well! The pit closes about 2 1/2 - 3 Hours before U2 come on stage (9pm in Dublin). Well worth it if you can because you can come and go (to the bar) all you want after that. We missed it by 5 minutes on two of the nights because of work

I was really lucky, I read about tickets going on sale on the way to work (thought that it would be cool to go but nothing more). I called my GF about 10am who was still at home sick and mentioned to her that they went on sale today just in conversation and she bravely offered to pull herself and the douvet over to the PC and spend some time pressing F5 on the ticket master web page

I think the 4Mbit internet connection might have been a help there

saw them on the 18th at twickenham..
they were stunning as always.

So many great songs to play and so little time.
They didnt even get time for with or without you, or walk on, or unforgettable fire.

What was the Cardiff gig liast night like then?

My girlfriend just told me that her mate in work had two spare tickets and offered them to her at face value yesterday. She turned them down as she doesn't like U2 and didn't think I would:
- I only have every album on CD & my iPod (which she uses)!
- She saw me watching a show on them the other day!
- She bought me their Atomic bomb album!

When I'm through with her she's going to wish she was Paul Gasgoine's misses

It was a fantastic night, I still can't hear properly now. The Killers and Starsailor were pretty good too.

Worst parts of the night -
Bono banging on about human rights, equality etc.
The bloke behind me who kept whistling
Cardiff's inability to hold any volume of traffic without coming to a complete standstill


The rest was great though.

I saw them at Twickenham and the show was fantatic. Great photos at the start of the thread BTW, that is exactly what it was like for me.

Definitely the best live band in the world IMO...

Tickets are like gold dust though, we only managed to blag some off an ex collegue of my g/f's as they work for ticketmaster!

Thanks for the comments on the photos, it's only a little cannon ixus 40 something-or-other, but some shots and the videos especially came out real well.

Going by the boom cameras and camera men all over the stage on friday and saturday, it looks like a DVD may follw of the Dublin gig. All cameras were gone by monday á la Slane Elevation tour 2001. Heres Hoping as they have confirmed Chicago is being realesed but we really want an outdoor show.

WOW Last night was sooo good a truly stunninf show well except for the traffic, it took us the best part of 2 hours to get moving at a reasonable speed!!!
