What's everyone's thoughts/recommendations on a new TV for take advantage of the Xbox SX and PS5?

Must be 4K, HMDI 2.1, 120Hz, HDR and Dolby Digital compatible.

Primarily for games so doesn't need to be huge, thinking less than 50".
And sub £1k ideally..

I’d also say OLED not the non OLED option.

Our OLED is coming up to 2 years old now - it’s still superb and no doubt will be in 8-10years time too.

LG B9 OLEDs fit most of those bills I believe. They've been replaced by the B10 (BX maybe...?) so will be even cheaper I imagine.

This is what I went for and have been very impressed even just with a PS4 Pro.

The B9/C9 are specifically said to be compatible with the next gen of consoles owing to having the right HDMI ports etc. the 10 versions may not, I'd suggest a bit of research.

From what I understand it LG make all of the OLED panels, another company offering OLED are selling an LG panel in their own box with their own software.

B9 owner here, best TV I've ever had love it and it will be paired with my series X when it arrives

I think LG making all the panels was the case but may not be anymore

OP I would swerve QLED personally

I have the Samsung QLED and I like it so much I am getting a lower version for the bedroom too. The colours etc are just amazing and with my PS4 Pro it is superb (has a gaming mode). I am expecting it to be fantastic with a PS5.

Sticking this in my watch list as I'll be needing a new TV when I return home (Think the US ones will almost certainly go pop on a UK power supply)

I've found myself playing a lot more on my Xbox since Covid as I can't really face more hours sitting on my computer desk! My current Console TV is a freebie Samsung which whilst HD is distinctly average everywhere so looking forward to a nice new shiny next year at some point!

Any oled with HDMI 2.1 or just get a gaming monitor but you will struggle to get all you want for sub £1k

I own OLED I am not a fan of QLED, its fairly typical Samsung nonsense imo and not as good as OLED at all

Note they have an offer on the 8K QLED's at the moment where you get a free Z Flip Phone (another Samsung Folly no one wanted or asked for)

Another vote for OLED here.

Had a 65 B7 for almost 3 years and it has been great, no back lighting really makes a difference.

For those considering a new AV Receiver to go with a new TV be aware that a bug has been found in the chipsets, unclear if it can be fixed with software updates at this time. See https://www.avforums.com/news/denon-marantz-and-ya... for more information, here too https://old.reddit.com/r/hometheater/comments/jgjz...

Ok to buy a TV, but I'd hold off a receiver for the moment..

Figured I’d jump in here rather than post a new thread.

Anyone upgrading their current OLED for a newer model?

If I can get a reasonable price for my LG B7 I’m tempted to upgrade for the HDMI 2.1 and 120hz etc.

Although I’m thinking it might be worth waiting a bit until more games on the series x and PS5 make use of the tech.
