Google Maps history not mine!
Discussion
Here's a bit of an odd one: I use Google Maps as a sat nav on my phone.
It's very good - sometimes spookily so - at suggesting destinations based on my history of places in Dorset and Hants.
For the last few days it has been mixing genuine historical destinations with a whole list of random locations in Oxford, a city I've not visited since failing to get in to the university in 1991.
Random, or sinister?

Google Timeline is not infallible, it once placed me at some kind of owl sanctuary in Suffolk on a Saturday daytime (a bit Alan Partridge I know) when in reality I was at Newark Showground Nottinghamshire, from the Friday afternoon right through to the Sunday afternoon.
It did another one once too the exact details I can't recall but it reckoned I had been to Grimsby or somewhere like that when in reality I hadn't left the Midlands that day.

Mine is accurate to a scary degree! It did another one once too the exact details I can't recall but it reckoned I had been to Grimsby or somewhere like that when in reality I hadn't left the Midlands that day.
I find it oddly depressing when it sends me a monthly summary of how I am wasting my life.

Ah yes, have just solved the mystery, my father is logged in as me.
This explains why YouTube keeps recommending I watch endless videos shot from the cabs of trains.

And are you remotely worried what your Dad is getting directed to watch because he is logged on as you? This explains why YouTube keeps recommending I watch endless videos shot from the cabs of trains.

Why not overlay train cab videos with heavy metal you could be onto a niche market there.
Or heavy metal bands with choo choo over the top?bigandclever said:
