Newer phones so better reception?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ and at home the reception is dire, not helped by the thick walls etc. I do use wi-fi calling but even that can be intermittent. Would a newer phone help or is it likely to have the same reception capability?

Possibly if the radio circuitry was faulty.
Have you any friends with recent phones who can compare.
Who your network provider is obviously makes a difference.
I would get some friends over with recent phones on different networks and compare.
If you are in a deadzone, even a new phone will struggle.
Or get people to contact you mainly through Facebook Messenger etc
