ICE cars can have soul - Electric cars cannot?
Discussion
Some say you can't be a true "PetrolHead" until you've owned an Alfa Romeo. I don't know about that. But driving an ICE powered car does vary, petrol or diesel, turbo or non-turbo, carburettors, fuel injection, manual, auto, semi-auto etc etc.. So over the years there have been many iterations of these, some utterly brilliant, enjoyable and fun, and some less so - But when the recipe is just right the car can induce it's driver with heart, soul and passion. Will the same ever be said for Electric cars as they evolve, or dare I say they are more like "White goods"?! Could there be and ElectricHead one day?!
It's not the electric powertrain that will prevent there being electricheads., it's the congestion, driverless cars and silly low speed limits. Just wait, once we have driverless electric cars, many arguments for speed limits will be gone at least on motorways- so do you think they will be raised? Thought not!
That's certainly why I personally will never feel the same way about an electric car as I do about a petrol car. But.. who knows? New generation might love their electric cars and get excited about how many windings their motors have and what firmware their Tesla falcon doors are running.

I worked at a BMW dealership a few years ago, and only ever drove the i3 - brilliant from standstill and getting up to speed, the torque and engine braking was perfect on the roads and roundabouts of Milton Keynes, but otherwise completely uninvolving..! Times change and no doubt opinions will too.....Isn’t the taycan meant to be a very good steer?
Surely electric cars can be good to drive but that’s not the focus of them currently as they are mainly either targeted at mums, trendy men in a etron sportback or company car drivers
I’m sure in a few years when a electric 911 comes along people Will love it

I drove an EV for the first time last week. I was looking forward to it.
What I came away thinking is that it was all a bit numb and lifeless.
Perhaps it’s something you get used to but I missed an engine! Who’d have thought it.
I supposed people missed the horse when motor cars first appeared
