What computer?

We need a computer or laptop for home. Girlfriend has started a course at work and needs to do coursework etc on it.

Will be needed for word and internet stuff (not porn...).

I'm so confused!

We've currently got a Chromebook and it's st.

Budget of £600/£700. One that wont need replacing or be slow within a year.

Has anyone got any suggestions? I'm not sure if I want a PC or laptop.

I use a Dell Inspiron with 8GB of Ram. Seems capable of handling large amounts of documents open at the same time etc
