Shopping somebody to the police?

Has anybody here ever grassed somebody up (Anonymously) to the police because you suspected that they were involved in illegal activities?

I reported a doddery old man to the police who still had a shotgun licence and could barely point the thing straight but liked firing from his bathroom window.

The police paid him a visit and took the licence away but also gave chapter and verse about the report, although minus my name, which I didn't find very professional or helpful at the time.

Yeah reported a “mate” who used to drink drive all the time. I don’t mean a bit over the limit or once in a blue moon.
He used to drink 7, 8, 9 pints and drive home 3ish days a week.

Maybe his socks got dirty and he needed to wash them but he doesn't have a washing machine so he has to go to the launderette

A near neighbour's son was just over 17 and had a new Corsa. His girfriend and her friends came round to see it, they were about 14/16 years old. He let them drive the car around residential streets for an hour, The car came back with one wing badly dented, the girls went home quickly.

Mrs Summers called the rozzers, they turned up and sorted it out.
