I have a whine/rumble in the gearbox in 1st and 2nd gear with 120000 miles completed in my VW Crafter. So I need to get it dealt with before its terminal.
But, I have run out of gearbox specialists, transmission experts, semi-auto technicians... who according to their websites, work on everything - but won't do the Shiftmatic box on the Crafter when I actually speak to them.
The Shiftmatic is a semi-auto manual box which is apparently easy to work on. But it's the actuator system knowledge and software required thats the issue. They simply don't have it.
I'm in west London, and I've found only one place who can do the rebuild, which happens to be 400 miles away in Glasgow.

Does anyone have any helpful information that would stop me having to travel to Glasgow twice!
