to pass an MOT

Does anyone know; do you need the windscreen washers to pass an MOT?

They are physically tested, yes - some garages will eve fail if there's no water coming out!

If you remove the windscreen for the MOT you don't need wipers, not sure washers are ever needed, pretty sure caterhams don't have them when they are fitted with a windscreen, yet they must have wipers. Just call caterham, they'll be able to answer.

Found this on an MOT testers site.

Test;
Check the function of the windscreen washers.

Fail if;
The windscreen washers do not provide enough liquid to clear the windscreen in conjunction with the wiper(s)

So answer is yes they must be present and they must work well.
