Go through the club website and contact Geoff Sparkes (president) Not sure if there are any spaces left but worth asking. Am gutted I cant make this event, flying off to Rarotonga - will ya salute me as I fly past...LOL I have already loaned out the camera bracket for inside the car to a V8 owner. Something for ya to think about setting up in the Elise. You can play back all the #*&^%%$*%$%! language in the car when you f%^k up after a spin Or evidence of a nice little passing move on ya mates

George, the last one got canned due to the track being closed at the last minute, hence being already full.
I know some one who booked but isn't going so i'll see if he can ring them and have you down instead.

nztrev.... you sure you're talking about the same event? I'm talking about the LBJ training event, not the rescheduled trackday... although if there's a space in the earlier one I'd be keen to put myself in there if anyone's cancelling... so long as I can go in the "slower cars" group because I'm gonna be very cautious first time out

Kylie.. I e-mailed Geoff Sparks just after I joined a few weeks back and he e-mailed me to tell me that application forms etc would be sent out closer to the time. I just e-mailed him saying that I was still keen and just wanted to be in early to assure myself of a place because I DON'T wanna miss out on it .. hopefully I find out soon...

That one is and always has been scheduled for the 14th august... there is a Lotus sprint day that was rained off earlier in the year or postponed for SOME reason that's coming up on August 6th

You'll see me at both Dean... although probably only a spectator at the first one.

I want the LBJ day to be my first track day... give me a chance to ease myself into the car, with some instruction and some driving tasks to gradually warm me up throughout the day... if I go out on track on the 6th, I'm half-scared the red mist will descend when I'm on the track and I'll end up taking a bent Elise home on a trailer!

Because unfortunately they seem to think that there's more to driving than 'Pick any gear, Right foot against the firewall, left foot from clutch to footrest very rapidly, hang on for the ride'!

I need a TVR

Hehe because when you're 4 cylinders short of a real engine, you need to make up for the deficiencies with more driving skills

Then this is a "must-do" event for you!....trust me, you'll love it... a great thing to do for your first trackday... you start slow then work your way into faster exercises throughout the day.... learn the limits of your car gently... not sliding sideways towards the armco or rolling over in a sand trap

I'll be in attendance, albeit not in my own car. My brother-in-law has plucked up sufficient courage to take his new machine out for a "stroll" - methinks I'll be stuck with the camera for the day.

Good stuff Murdock! You'll have to introduce yourself... don't believe I've seen you on here before.... is it just me being forgetful? or are you a recent addition to these forums?

I spectated last year and it's a good day with a decent array of machinery there to keep you interested.

What's your brother's car? And what car would you be bringing if you could?

Hi Esprit.

I've been on the forums for a wee while now, still fairly new to New Zealand though (fast approaching ten months at this stage). My brother-in-law's driving a BMW 330Ci (M3 put on hold for another couple of years due to impending arrival of another baby). I know what I'd like to be bringing - alas I'm "between cars" at the moment so to speak (the joys of student life, eh?). I look forward to seeing what the local car enthusiasts have to offer, been well impressed with what I've seen around Auckland thus far. If I spot you I'll make myself known - what do you drive yourself (or is your username giving the game away?)?
