vapour lock

Question for a friend:

His TR6 sometimes get a vapourlock.
It's a car with 2 strombergs and the incoming fuelpipes are done with isolation material.

Does it normally has a heatshield?
Could it be a fuelpump (italian mark)?

any other things to look at........
