Hi Everyone.
My Submariner that I have had since 08 has started making a sort of light clicking/grating sound if I wobble it a bit. Also when you shake it feels like it’s trying to pull itself out of your hand we’re before it felt centred. If that makes sense.
Not sure what to do? Send it to Rolex for a service? My Dad sent his off a couple of years ago cost 800 and didn’t see his watch for 4 months. Not exactly keen on that. Is there any other options?
Still tells time like before. Gains a bit but everyone I know with a Rolex does as well.

Just take it to your nearest Rolex stockist/dealer nothing connected with Rolex is cheap. I’ve had about 5 over the years.. wouldn’t get another , the annual service you’re supposed to get is about £500. Having said that, if money’s no object, they are a nice thing to wear. What annual service?

To answer the OP it sounds like the rotor bearing needs sorting. It happened to my wife's datejust, it could be fouling on the case back, so is creating filings that will just make matters worse. If it's out of warranty then no need to go to Rolex, but if you get it serviced you get a 2 year warranty, which is the same as many watches give you for a new watch.
I have used Russell Tallerman in the past. You will still need to wait a few weeks, but they are slightly cheaper, slightly quicker and do a great job.

I took my Rolex here as did Mrs BC. Approved servicing but quicker and cheaper than sending the watch to Rolex.

My stepfather, Rocco at Watchworks is Rolex accredited.
They book you in and call when it’s time to post/drop off, from then the watch is with them for 2/3 weeks.
