Just coming up to three years on my 440i M Sport, so the warranty ends next month. Lovely car and planning to keep it for a few more years. I've just received the letter from BMW about the extended Comprehensive Warranty. Anyone gone for that? I'm being quoted £420 for the year, including BMW breakdown cover and a £250 excess. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Not on a car but I had it on my bmw bike and was very glad when I had a rear suspension failure.

No arguments, paid out the 4k no worries.

Previous bike sprung an oil leak due to a dry seal, bike collected repaired and returned, again no issued.

Assuming its the same with 4 wheels I think its well worth it.

Different car ( F20 125i)

Quoted £493 for fully comprehensive with breakdown cover, £100 excess.

Mechanically I'm not so concerned, more if the idrive or any one of the communication systems fail.

Will be paying outright for the year as the car is only on 30k miles.

I have the warranty on my 15 year old M6 and it isn't cheap, but totally worth it. Had the iDrive unit replaced recently no qualms. I will be moving to monthly as the car nears 60k miles so that I can lock into the cheaper prices, but I would recommend the Mondial warranty as pretty solid.

07 335i here and I've had the warranty since I got it 3 years ago.

Pay circa £680 a year with a £100 excess and its covered its own cost multiple times.

Would say it depends on how your dealer is but as a product I thoroughly recommend it.

2016 X1. Wife paid £400 for year 4 warranty. Few months later £10,000+ repair bill covered in full for diesel fuel sensor leak into engine bay.
Courtesy car forcweeks whilst sorted. Dealer paid excess on warranty due to prior unrelated issues.
