DB9 Servicing costs - franchised dealer vs independent
Discussion
Hi,
Look at my profile for an idea of costs at independents.
It’s not a simple comparison of ‘fixed price’ menus from websites, if you do then the advertised prices are similar.
If additional things need doing then you could compare £80/hr with £200/hr but it probably varies more by loacation than types of dealer. London independents may be more than provincial main dealers.
It’s also a point of doing things that are essential or desireable - this can affect maintenance costs considerably, pay early save later!!!
I think it is more about building a relationship and understanding what kind of service regime you would like to undertake / pay for.
My 4 1/2 pence worth.

I would budget £1,500 per year. I have a six year old V12VS and I’m still using main dealer servicing. No complaints at all from two different dealers. Warranty expired three years ago.
I explored a local well known independent earlier this year, they were no cheaper than the main dealer for an annual service.
Would they be better? I don’t know. No cost saving.
As our cars get older though, I would probably gravitate towards an independent.
That’s what I do with my 2007 Audi RS4 B7 - no point taking that to a main Audi dealer as they will see very few.
Could go on forever, if the car has a full main dealer service history to date, and you think you may sell it in the near future then stay main dealer.
