How does a 6ft 3" 17 stone inflexible middle aged bloke get into a Morgan 4/4 with the roof up or with the hard top on?

I can't see it being very elegant.

I've short legs and a long body, is that ok in a 4/4 or hopeless?

In my Cobra with hood up it’s not bad, just a knack. Head & torso first, left arm supporting weight on tunnel, left leg in, arse slumps down in seat, crunch right leg in - reverse out the same way. It’s not elegant! But not particularly gymnastic

Cheers

Wait, you can drive a Morgan with the roof up? Never seen that being done...

I remember seeing a Caterham in a showroom with a footprint on the dashboard

SWB Land Rovers have been designed around this physique, you should try one of these.

6.2” and it’s easier to get in my Morgan (though it’s a later long door) than my Series 1 Etype

They've got doors haven't they? Just be grateful it's not a bloody Caterham.

I'm a six foot fatty and I can get in and out of my Caterham with the roof on, granted it is a bit of a squeeze but it is easy enough if you use the same method each time.

Can relate to all the above

At the age of 17 (1970) I wanted a Frogeye, didn't get one as they were all rotten but I did sit in a few and getting in was OK, Eventually bought a Mk 2 Midget (like a Mk 3 Sprite) and got in and out easily.
Move forward to a few years ago. Couldn't bend my legs enough to get in.

Caterham? I had a Lotus Seven S2 back in the 1980's, used it with the roof one winter (in the snow) put up with the noise but getting in was fun, especially with a passenger
Now with a Caterham, in about 20 years I've had the roof on about three times, noisy, leaks, and getting in is just about impossible. Head in, body in, over to the passenger side, left leg, right leg, wriggle down....

Good fun if you get your lady passenger strapped in first though biggrin

True, your head can end up in some interesting places, equally if she tries to get in second once you are positioned although the steering wheel needs to be detachable.....

I've only driven my 4/4 with the hood up on two occasions. I'm 6' and 15 stone. I've no intention of repeating the experience. You need to be a contortionist!
