Have you tried tow starting, it could be a failed starter motor.

Battery discharge initially.
Post the overnight charge the issue may be poor connections or damaged cables (moving them made poor connections worse).

The underlying issue of why the battery discharged initially will still be there after you fix the starting problem

Had this with mine, new starter motor fixed it, then one of the fuel pumps died and the brakes became intermittent and then the rear differential went bang and the gear stick snapped off in my hand on a roundabout.... PX in the end but only after switching it off and on again to get rid of check engine light while salesman took it up road to find any faults....

I would measure the voltage at the battery when attempting to start. then I would measure the voltage at the starter motor post (the big one after the solenoid) when attempting to start. This will answer if it's your battery or your connections.

Immobiliser fault/issue/battery in key fob dead?

I loved my TD4, which I never got rid of it, got an ST instead which has been nothing but problems.

If there is a faulty connection somewhere, (earth, starter etc) then a jump start won't help much. There may well be enough power getting through to operate your lights etc, but starting an engine (particularly a diesel) is a different ballgame.

Have you tried a jump lead from battery negative to a good earth point on engine block to rule out bad earth.

As I mentioned a couple of posts up, you can have all the power you like at the battery, but if there's a loose, corroded or broken earth somewhere, that power isn't getting to where it needs to go.

If you run a lead from the neg terminal to the engine block, then if the car starts, you know what the problem is.

Glad to help. At least it was found without too much trouble or expense.
