Detailed maps of UK are patchy (Central London is good). Most of the main US cities are good.....

Mmm. Been using Google maps for a while. This globe thing will do directions too, so I assume it interfaces with google maps.

I bought a $29.95 subscription to Keyhole.com just after Google bought it. Google have bought loads of new maps since they've taken over, and today they sent me this:

google email said:

We hope you'll enjoy Google Earth Plus. We are also happy to announce that we are automatically extending your subscription, set to expire on 4/16/07, for one additional year free of charge.

I have to admit that I'm thinking about upgrading to the Pro package to include in the rally material I do. Flying through Switzerland following the roads the teams follow is extremely good. You get an excellent feeling of how long some of the distances are.

The satellite imagery on those google maps is amazing. I can see my street on them.

I noticed that some American cities (like New York) have some buildings modelled in 3D! Looks great

They only acquired the company a few months back, give them time to work their Google magic and it will truly astounding I reckon.
