Looking to move to sky q and have repositioned my tv on the other side of the room. Can anyone recommend any good flat coax cables that are suitable for sky q which I can run under the carpet. Cheers!

As Sky Q is Blutooth receiver, you could just run a single HDMI rather than the shotgun coax for the signal and leave the box where it is?

Hi yes that’s an option but would ideally like all of my kit in the tv unit as it keeps it tidy

Can you reroute externally and bring it in to the right place in the room?

No not an option I’m afraid. I’m hoping I can run the cables as is under the carpet but was hoping there might be some plat cables that would be suitable. A couple I have found have said not suitable for sky q

Can you run it round the edge or will it actually be walked on?

This makes best sense, there is no need for your Sky Q box to be located with the rest of your viewing equipment. Just locate it somewhere convenient ( I have mine next to my wi-fi router in an under stair cupboard) and then use a quality HDMI cable to link the Q box and the tv. The Bluetooth remote makes it all possible. Trying to find a flat 75 ohm cable (pair) will always be a compromise because it will inherently have high loss due to the small cross dimensional size of the centre conductor. Rethink and go with an HDMI solution

I may end up routing around the edge under the carpet I think

I would avoid lifting the carpet. Even if you get a carpet fitter to do it, it never goes back right.

If you are having underlay fitted, run the cable around the edge of the room and cut a V in the underly to absorb it.

You will still feel it if you tread on it, but the carpet wont be lumpy.
