Rapide Cupholder Trim Ring Rattle
Discussion
After some investigation I have tracked down the source of a rattle in my 2014 Rapide S to the two cupholder trim rings for the rear seat. They're quite loose, easy to turn and remove, but even when inserted firmly they rattle. My car has the extended piano black trim and that probably makes it a bit worse. Anybody else have this problem? I'm not totally sure what to do but I'm thinking of using a bit of glue to fix them in place since there's no real need to ever remove them.
I'm not familiar with these trim rings but, rather than glue them, you could wrap the section that insets with anti-rattle tape, available from most good motor factors. It's a thin felt tape with adhesive on one side.
I'll take a wild stab in the dark and guess that the trim rings were originally engineered to be inserted into a leather-wrapped part and the veneer finish means they are now too loose.

The front ones on mine are loose but do not rattle , good advice above use a bit of tape, even masking tape would probably tighten enough to solve problem
True. I only recommend the anti-rattle because it's felt and it tends to be black, so less visible than masking tapesGassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
