Does anyone on here have a Neeo remote? I got mine via kickstarter ages ago and have mainly been impressed.

However it now seems you need an account to access technical support and you need to be invited to have an account.

Does anyone have access to planet Neeo and can hook a brother up?

IIRC the company got bought out and the new owners then discontinued support.

IIRC Neeo got bought by Control4, and they are a rather insular trade only supplier and supporter.

I thought I'd registered but it appears not. When I've had problems I've normally been able to find the answer on planet neeo with a bit of googling.

Yes they were bought by Control 4 but made noises about continuing support for existing customers for a few years (which TBF may have passed)

The archive of support data used to be searchable and now isn't which is a really pity as it is an excellent bit of hardware.

They do have a rather odd way of dealing.

I can only become a dealer if i do the training, which makes sense, but also comit to selling £X,000 of kit every year, if not all my customer accounts get closed off to me and i cant support them anymore.

Only realistic way to achieve figures as a small business is cram everylast bit of a project with C4 kit regardless of how good it is.

How is that good for my client base?

That is bizarre. It is particularly a shame for everyone who backed NEEO on kickstarter, delivery of units was 2 years late but it felt worth it because the hardware is leagues ahead of anything else on the market. Now cutting off access to the support forums for the legacy products just seems spiteful, it is not like any of said support applies to Control 4 kit.

Control4 dealer here for 10 + years and I see both sides of the argument. Yes it can be frustrating to some businesses who want to open accounts but needs to spend £X but that protects the rest of us who've invested heavily in training and supporting the product and our installs. For example, I had 2 cx full time support engineers last year which probably cost me best part of £70k to employ ...

There are many people/business which will quite happily sell at cost, shafting us established dealers to get a sale. When we are asked to undercut another dealer, we decline. We had a situation last year where a 'new dealer' offered the whole system (circa £100k) at cost, charging £11k to install it (we estimated £24k to install/program ... ). Unable to compete, we offered the client another solution (we're also a Crestron dealer) which proved more cost effective than C4 and profit margins were where we need them to be.

The 'product' can be very frustrating, like any system but this more so. So if I was a company looking for a control system, I would consider something else based on performance/reliability/ease of program/support/profit ... which isn't easy!

The Neeo is a nice piece of kit, we've had a couple of failures already. But it nice to have something on wifi rather than Zigbee.
