You can get a couple of kits which replace a bunch of the stuff in that kit with more "lifelike" components. One kit has a bunch of fasteners which are replicas of the various bolts on the bike. You even need to tap the threads for the bolts to go into (the original Pocher kit has self-tapping screws). There's another kit (called transkit) which replaces a lot of the components - a cool €1,500.00. The attention to detail is full-on.

I got back into making models during lockdown. Almost finished the 1/12 Ducati 916 and I’ve got the Honda six just started too.

Main reason I’ve started again is that I got one of the Model Factory Hiro models for my 40th. They’re 1/9 scale white metal models of old bikes. The one I have is the Montgomery. It’ll be a while before I’m brave enough to tackle that hehe

I’ve enjoyed model making again though. Can’t believe how advanced the tools and equipment, paints etc are now compared to 25 years ago when I last made one!
