I-Mac and burning CDs help please
Discussion
Sorry - I'm completely un-techie and need simple help.
I recently sold my mac to a friend.
She's trying to burn new music she bought from itunes onto CD, but for some reason it's not working properly.
When I had it, I never had a problem.
As I recall burning a playlist to a CD took several minutes, but my friend is saying the whole process takes under a minute. It seems to register the songs on the mac, but if she pops the cd in her stereo there's nothing on it.
She's using the same CDs I did all along.
What is she doing wrong?

I'm not on my mac now - so this is of limited use, but it sounds like they may just be copying over the MP3's/M4A files rather than the ones needed by the CD player (sorry about lack of techie terms). In the preferences you can specify the default burning option & your mate should make sure that it is the correct format for "normal" CD players.
Hope that helps!

bga - you are a star, thank you.
You were right - the preferences were set to data cd rather than audio. I guess it must have defaulted or something.
You have saved a lady in distress and saved my sanity too. (she called me 3 times today at the most awkward moments!)
Thanks
Glad to help
