PPF and detailing in the north east
Discussion
I became the proud owner of a V12 vantage last year. I'm looking at getting the aging and slightly annoying half front PPF replaced.
The car is in for some warrantied body work due to some paint issues. These have been solved but during the process the PPF has had to be removed. They are replacing it as part of this work bit I'm looking at doing the whole car.
I have got a couple of quotes. One for about £6500+vat for an internal and external detail, full PPF and ceramic coating on top. The other is about £6000+vat.
Does this sound about right in terms of cost?
Also can anyone recommend companies in the north east to have this done?
This is a first for me tbh so I'm a little out of my depth.
Thanks.

On average, You should be looking at around £4.5k plus vat for the whole car coverage. Really, no more than a grand for the detailing.
The ceramic coating is optional really. The car will already be protected by the ppf so you can could even skip that step if you wanted, but it’s always good to have something over the top. You could save a few quid and get a spray sealant and give the car a wipe over with that yourself or get a film coating put on the car like Gtechniq Halo, which would be around £150 to apply.
I work with one of the best ppf installers in the country, called Lionshields, based in burton on Trent. I’m pretty sure that between us, with me detailing (most experienced Aston detailer in the country), them fitting the film and even getting the car transported there and back, it would be cheaper.
Drop me a message on here and I’ll get you a proper quote.
One thing I would say is to avoid places that are really cheap and use rubbish film. There are places out there that would do the whole lot for 3 grand, but there’s always a reason they are that cheap. And avoid anything to do with Reep group. They do most of the new cars for a lot of the high end dealers and they are rubbish.
