Some prat has reversed up my bonnet. That's right...

Reversed so far up that one of his tyres actually left the groung.

Only superficial scratching that can be polished out, and no damage to the GRP.

'I'm really sorry,' he said 'I didn't see it'

That would be 'driving without due care and attention if I was to report you...' I said - he shuffled off..

You shouldn't have used that "stealth paint"

Seriously, bloody lucky it didn't turn the font of your motor into a series of very small pieces of fibreglass

Yep - Volvo drivers..

Volvo owners are up against the wall long before any other sort of motorist come the ascent to power of the CzarZee Dynasty..

yeah - I know there are some Volvo owners on PH.. well you'll just have to live with the ignominy of being lumped in with the duffers, same as PH HunMobile owners have to live with the image 'problems' of their chosen marque.

I bet he was on the way to his golf club too..

btw I know all about the long and intimate relationship between Volvos and Golf so don't give me any shite about pigeonholing..

Scruff, that's bad, but are you sure it was a Volvo? Those things weigh so much if it reversed up your bonnet you'd be able to roll it up like a pancake and sprinkle sugar and lemon on it afterwards (though it might be a bit chewy)

Seriously, hope the damage isn't too bad.

By the way, what's going on? I'm away for a few days and there you are watching the Ryder Cup...bought a Chimaera yet?

No real damage, just polishing out the scratches. Although he should have offered.
Could've been worse, could've had a tow bar.

I didn't ask him if he played golf, otherwize we'd have settled the matter over a quick 19.

There's a nice Starmist Green Chimaera trolley on the www, and as for clubs Caro, ...Jacobs.

Oh, and I counted 17 TVR's in Bristol yesterday... are they breeding?

Shuffled Off! Didn't he drive off - surely you haven't let him leave it parked there!

Seriously though - Bad Luck, you have obviously taken it better than I would -

Volvos have a well-deserved image problem. They are driven by morons a lot of the time - okay, most of the time. But we're not all like that!! I drive an 850 T5, the 250 BHP performance whizzy one. And most of the others I know who drive these (and mod them and race them and...) are perfectly good drivers. Problems like the above are caused by the flat-cap brigade, the people we were all saying the other week should undergo retesting every few years.

And FWIW, you can't really see a Griff out of the back window of the Volvo!!

Especially when there's a nodding dog, spare flat cap, box of tisues & picnic blanket on the rear shelf...

Jacobs ain't what they used to be, sadly, some product manager has fiddled with the mix and they've lost their edge...I've moved on, as you have to when a lovely thing dies, it's Jaffa cake muffins or Golden Syrup mini cakes now.

Still, if you buy the Starmist Green trolley we could play a round of 8 sometime

Couldn't answer that I'm afraid, not owning any of the above accoutrements.

Nononono... Volvo drivers of the above-mentioned type don't use mirrors!! Good grief, whatever next? You'll be expecting them to look before pulling out at junctions.
