Hi all

I was really lucky to trade some home cinema gear for an Audiolab 8000a and some Castle Severn IIs which are a little tatty and I'm not that keen on the colour.

I wonder if I could get them wrapped in a gloss white by a car wrapping place. Has anyone done this?

A car place probably could do it for you, just ring up and ask.
Alternatively have a go yourself, it shouldn't cost a lot to buy some 3m sheets off the net, then just have a look at some guides on YouTube.
The speakers are a fairly easy shape to wrap.
I've done some interior pieces and some cabinets before and it wasn't that difficult.

Great idea.! I'm sure a good specialist could do this for you and make a nice job of it. What sources are you going to use through the Audiolab 8000A?

Buy the material and wrap them yourself, it’s not difficult. You’ll want a cast vinyl with air release for easiness (used to be in the industry so unsure on best brand but Avery or 3M were the go to then)

Plenty of guides on YouTube to assist

Good luck

Gloss white? Repair any chips and get them spray-painted white with a few coats of lacquer over the top.

Thanks all. I am hopeless at fiddly things so reluctant to give it a go Myself hence would rather get a pro to do it. Unless it'll be 200 quid or something, I'll then give it a go.

I'm already using the audiolab with an Audioquest Dragonfly black and a laptop with Spotify as my main source with Dali Zensor 1s. Sounds brilliant. I have used the castles and they are amazing so looking forward to getting them smartened up etc

Really easy to do yourself.

I was given a free centre speaker when I bought my floorstanders, unfortunately in a different colour. I bought some 3M wrap online in the right colour and you'd never be able to tell

I have put ceramic coating on mine, so wrap should be fine.

Thanks all.. Maybe I'll get a good scalpel and give it a try.

I bought vinyl to do mine just after lockdown then broke one of the tweeter connections when taking them apart! I fixed the speaker but haven't gotten around to wrapping the speakers yet - I bought enough to do two floorstanders, a centre, and a subwoofer, was circa £60 delivered from Ireland.
Ive wrapped stuff in the past, a good craft knife/scalpel and a hairdryer/heat gun is all you really need - just make sure you clean the speakers thoroughly before wrapping with isopropyl alcohol or similar to remove any surface contaminants, and take your time. Plenty of Youtube videos of people wrapping furniture/kitchen doors etc to guide you.

I bought from here (I went for lime green glitter for the front of the floorstanders, and brushed grey titanium for the top/sides and the centre & sub) https://www.wrapdirect.com/architectural-wrap/

Thanks mate - really useful. I'm tempted with either gloss white or being really bold with gloss red.
