Gaming PC Advice
Discussion
Need some advice on choice of gaming PC please.
I have decided to get into sim racing, I’ve just bought a 2nd hand fanatec csl rig and now I need to get the PC and monitor.
I’ve always played games on consoles so PC is new to me. After some research it seems PC is the best way to experience this.
I don’t building it, I’ve watched a few YouTube videos, even though I don’t understand the jargon the build process looks simple enough (touch wood) although a built PC would be preferable.
Ideally my PC and monitor budget is around £1000. I want to future proof it to run on 3 screens and maybe even VR.
Recommendations please?

It will be tough to get PC + decent monitor for £1,000 (especially a PC with a GPU that can push 3 screens at a decent frame rate). The latest AMD CPUs have only just been released and their new GPUs are coming soon this should push the price of the previous gen down so worth waiting a week or two for prices to stabilise.
I don’t mind spending more if it means the PC will work if in future I add more screens and potentially VR.
I don’t need the latest and greatest as it’ll be wasted on me. Just the best value for what I need.
Fire away your recommendations on the best built PC or the spec list for me to build.

The problem at the moment, is all the new stuff is in high demand and low supply - so the new stuff is unavailable, and the older stuff hasn't been discounted yet.
I'm resigned to getting my build (ordered early October with an RTX3080) by about Christmas - but mainly due to the crap-fest that is Nvidia's 3000-series launch.
If you're happy with that build, you could save £100 by simply purchasing a grey copy of MS Windows and installing it yourself.
I've just quickly built a similar system (AMD based, but added an bigger SSD and faster GPU) on pcpartpicker...

My advice, is if you don't need it now, then wait until the new launches have quietened down and stock is available, and then choose between saving cash by using last-gen components (2000-series/RTX5000-series GPU and 3000-series Zen2 AMD CPU), or pay a premium for next-gen components (3000-series/RTX6000-series GPU and 5000-series Zen3 AMD GPU).

I’ve spent a good few hours today researching different configurations and prices and watching YouTube videos but to be honest most of it goes over my head.
I’m now thinking about just getting the new x-box series x and getting the best possible monitors to compliment it.
The PC is a lot of money and most of it will be wasted on me to be honest.
