Hi all, hoping someone can help.
A3 8v saloon 2015. The rear left side light (on tailgate only) has stopped working. All other lights work fine in the same cluster, and so do the 3 other clusters. No faults on dash.
Removed light and confirmed sidelight works fine when power applied directly to it.
Checked all wires for breakages (apparently common on saloons) but all good. Oddly, the wire/pin for sidelights on the broken one only reads 2v with a meter, whereas the other side is 10+v.
All fuses look ok.
Has anyone seen this before? Not sure what else to try!

Any suggestions very much appreciated.

Have you removed the loom tape further along than the hinge point

2 Volts does point to broken cable/cables

You can also pull on the cables and they might pull out of the loom if broken, remove some trim and check the voltage at the cable before the hinge point to prove the fault

Thanks for the response. I've removed the tape all the way along, and then measured the voltage where the wires enter the boot (so well before the hinge point). Its the same reading here and at the tail light connector.

Ok

Can't find a diagram

Chances are that the cable is joined to the working LH light cable at a splice in the rear loom or connects to a control unit that senses bulb failure

Possible damage further along rear loom?

Sorry can't be of more help, need a diagram
