It's been reported in two of the FB Wedge forums the sad news that the designer of our Wedges Oliver Winterbottom has passed away. I've met him several times at recent Wedge Fests and he was a truly talented and fascinating guy. My thoughts and best wishes go out to his family.

Hi Keith, I was just checking to see if anyone had posted the sad news on here. Glad you did.

Genuinely a bloody nice bloke and a honour to chat with him at BBWF in 2017. Sad loss, but what a legacy! Thoughts with his family. RIP Mr Wedge (Lotus and TVR).

That is indeed sad news. I am glad I met him a few times and got to know something of the engineer behind the Wedge.

R.I.P. Oliver.

I had the great pleasure of working directly under Oliver for 3 years at Lotus.
He was a larger than life old school character and a true gentleman.

RIP Oliver

Oliver Winterbottoms funeral today in Wymondham Abbey. They gave him a good send off with an impressive turnout of Lotus cars.
