This is just a Tekken appreciation thread.
I remember back in Uni playing Tekken 2 on the original PlayStation. Winner stays on...hours of fun.
I was one of the better players and I thought I was good, until I went online with Tekken 6 and realised how rubbish I actually am!
It's still fun, though.
Most played characters: Lei, Kazuya, Steve, Yoshimitsu.

I can attest to being a big fan of Tekken, a school friend had a jap PS1 in the summer of 1995 with a copy of Tekken, while I still had a mega drive.
That was the most memorable jump in terms of graphics/gameplay for me. He was miles better at it than me.
By the time I got my own playstation that Christmas in 95, I didn't receive Tekken with it, I had to save 3 months of pocket money to buy a copy. Those were the days!
I was able to hold my own but was never an expert at it. On a tangent, I remember the summer of 96 where he had a copy of International Track & Field, he would seat the controller between his thighs and mash the two opposing buttons (can't remember if it was square and circle or triangle and X) with the lid of a biro in a frantic rubbing motion to get the best times. Within a matter of weeks his controller looked absolutely shagged!
I've not tried Tekken 7 yet though.

I used to do similar. Except it used to be two fingers inside my t-shirt pressed against the controller. Then quick back and forth motion to mash the buttons as quick as possible. I seem to remember running the 100 metres in under 6 seconds! On topic, I loved Tekken and Tekken 2. I spent hours playing through the game with each character and then each unlocked character just to see the different end credits.
