Help! Internet explorer

I seem to have a problem with my internet explorer, it won't display 'login' pages, i.e Ebay, etc

Do any of the computer PH'ers have any ideas?

I'm also having trouble uninstalling AVG anti-virus and Norton!

Can't answer this apart from the warning that the last time I could not uninstall anti virus software it was because I had a virus!!!

My first suspicion is that you have a virus.

To check this, try either of the free online security scans below which will confirm, or otherwise, that you do have a virus:

Trend Micro

Symantec

If IE is so badly damaged that you can't use these sites then download the Firefox broswer and use that instead.

If you do have a virus and you cannot download a tool online to clean it, then consider making an anti-virus boot disk on a friend's machine which will allow your PC to boot from the CD drive and hence be able to run the anti-virus software.

If it turns out you don't have a virus then post an update with any further info and I'll have another think about it.
