As I say this stamp is extremely collectable, and therefore, I will not be letting it go for under £50.

He'll struggle to argue his corner seeing as he's not set a reserve.

Apart from being a dodgy thing to sell it drives me insane when people sell things on ebay at 99p NO RESERVE! then state they won't let it go for less than X amount.

THAT IS WHAT A F*CKING RESERVE IS!!!

Had to get that off my chest. Oh and entire descriptions written in block caps, does my head in too.

You didn't notice the "buy it now price" of 39.99? Guess the seller can not count as well as spell.

What you don't realise is that he has 1500 of them, that he's selling, one at a time!

Isn't their a trademark issue here? Anyone shown this to AFN? Could they do anything?

8 days and no bids; that's good news.

But how old is it? Note that it lists a telex number and not a fax number so it's late 80's at best. Not really of much use anymore.

Just e mailed Porsche Reading and asked if they could do something about it. Suspect not as no law being broken, only when its missused.
Was AFN Reading or Guildford?
Should we bid on it? say £1? and cover any non PH bidder?
Second thoughts. Not worth it as seller will not sell 'for silly money'. Best left with no bids so he is left to wonder if its worthless.

AFN no longer exists, and the address is ridiculously out of date, but I think it's still not a good thing to be in circulation.

Escalated to the appropriate party...

It is incredibly out of date - by about 20 years by my reckoning (Porsche Cars GB have been on Bath Road for about that long now, having moved from Richfield Ave. And AFN was bought by the Porsche Retail Group about 3 years ago!!).

Not quite sure that much can be done legally though - apart from someone buying it to secure it into safe hands...
