This was happening near our offices. Good idea for impressing your XR mates but the execution let him down.

Poorly equipped, a sweary banner which the papers pixellated so you couldn't read it and he decided to do it in Norwich, in the middle of a lockdown, over a weekend. He couldn't have picked a less disruptive time and place if he tried. Nobody here batted an eyelid.

Even the EDP who will try and make a story out of anything (for example they carried a story today about how the Coca Cola lorry won't be visiting Norwich this year because 'covid', before pointing out it didn't visit in 2019, 2018 or 2017 either) - relegated this story to the depths of their home page. Headline news it wasn't.

He'll dine out on the infamy for a bit if his mum & dad haven't grounded him. Maybe we'll see him again this time next year on Strictly or Celebrity Get Me Out Of Where I Am Currently Located.

Going off on a slight tangent, one of the best stories the EDP ran earlier this year was about a self-proclaimed right-on ethical vegan marketing agency who actively turned away clients who had anything to do with harming or endangering animals. It was all very smug and self-congratulatory.

Next day; an exposé about how the said same agency organised bacon butty runs on a Friday for their staff. Warning: Daily Mail link.

How come the police haven’t assaulted, arrested, and fined him?

He was lead away in cuffs this early evening after coming down. I can't stress enough how much attention hasn't been paid to this by the general populace he was lording over for the last few days. Full marks for having the head for heights to climb up there but 0/10 for everything else.

I bet he only climbed down once he ran out of his protected chalk streams.
