Cayenne remote key issues

Hi all. Hoping for some advice please, my 2010 958 Cayenne has all of a sudden refused to open on either remote key.

Batteries in key fobs fine, lights flash when pressed but no action from the car, even when key right by pillar on door.

I thought it was the well known sleep mode but i only used the car yesterday. Have to pop out key blade to open door manually, then put key into ignition within 10 seconds to stop alarm going off.

Once have done this is fine for the rest of the day opens and closes on fob from any distance like normal.

Any advice from anyone who has had this or fixed it? Thank you in advance...

I have had similar issues (doesn't work remotely until car started and then works for a while) before with my Audi and it turned out to be the car battery. Replaced with a new one at vast expense and all was well again.

Was the key fob battery changed in the last 4 years? If not start with changing that for 4 quid before trying the actual car battery (which if 8 years old is probably due replacement to be fair)

I had similar and the fob battery resolved this

Thank you, yes key fob batteries just changed last week, good point will check main car battery. On OBC display it says still lots of life left but guess worth checking when it was last changed. Only had the car for a few months so will check in service history...
