Anyone got any experience with smart/tracker key fobs such as "Tile" or Chipolo?

looking at the reviews on Amazon, its a mixed bag as to whether they actually work or not! I'm getting sick of my missus scaring the cr@p out of me every time she misplaces her keys!

We use tile on our keys, bought a multi pack so it worked out at under 8quid each for 4 I think, Probably saved my marriage.

They're only bluetooth aren't they ? So if I dropped my keys while out on a run and got home, I would have to be within 50m to pick up the signal.

If you can wait about 3 hours, it's likely Apple are going to announce their own AirTag tracker system shortly.

I have a lot of cars, and Tile has saved my sanity on many occasion.

Yes it is only bluetooth, but it does remember where it last "saw" your item. A few weeks ago, I "lost" my work security pass, and more importantly, the RSA token that is attached to it. I was turning the house upside down, remembered it had a tile, and checked my phone. The last known point was my place in London - and when I pinged the tile, another user walking past must have "found" it, because its location was updated in real time.

The battery does last about a year as claimed. The "pro" app is an utter waste of money - I tried it and binned it. The standard app is fine.
