What's the general opinion of the new BMW 'endurance' chain. Claimed to be as maintenance free as a shaft. Is it supposed to entice those of us who prefer shaft to consider chain drive bikes? Or is it aimed at existing chain drive riders? In my experience most riders of chain drive bikes insist the maintenance is insignificant anyway.

Seems like a no-brainer for the extra cost if you are keeping the bike and ride all year round.

No mention of the sprockets and how they will wear. Presumably more due to the chain being harder. So lubricant will still be needed.
