Probably been asked before but I'm finding it a bit confusing.

I'm wanting to use my Ipad to stream music via bluetooth to my Amp and Speakers. I know I need a DAC of some type, but many appear to only output direct to speakers or via a jack plug type Aux input. My Arcam 8R Amp doesn't have a Aux input, just the usual inputs for Phono, CD, Tuner etc.

It would appear from the searches I have done I'm likely to need to spend well over a hundred quid to do this, (ie something like the iFi Audio Zen at £129.00).

Or are there any cheap alternatives?

Chromecast Audio and a 3.5mm > Phono cable is what I use.

Look on Amazon for a Bluetooth receiver - anything from around £25.

Unless I've missed the point, you don't need a DAC - just a receiver the will take the bluetooth signal from your iPad. The receiver will plug into a spare input on your amp.

Right done it with one of those, not much to lose at that price.
Thanks

Could even use an Amazon Echo or similar surely?

Would have the option of streaming from Prime without needing the iPad then?
