Think about replacing my spoke wheels and already have found some nice well fitting chrome alloy rims...
My favorite tyre size is 215/45/17 on a 7,5 x 17 rim.
I think this is the best combination, isn´t it?
But the question now is: What is the correct mould depth (Don´t know the correct word for the "ET" ??
Have been reading a lot of postings about it and the more I read the more confused I am about the ET.
Can You please give me a feeling about the effect of the ET on the V8s if you already have fitted the tyre/wheel combination? Important the German M.O.T. is that the contact surface of the tyre is covered by the top of the wheel arch so that the contact surface isn´t wider than the body...
The German M.O.T. normally needs an expertise for every change on a vehicle - Do you need this also in the U.K.? If something like this exists I would appreciate it when you can send me copy on my mail adress: pwissel@web.de Maybe it would be easier for the registration. Are there even maybe any Germans apart from me that have already fitted the wheel/tyre combination on a V8s in Germany? (What are the odds!)
I´m looking forward to hearing from you...
Thanks in advance!
Peter

Sounds good.

Remeber that:

If you increase wheel width from 7" to 7.5" the offset will can be nearer ET30 to 35.If you stay with a wheel width of 7" the offset can be less.

Hope that all makes sense

which sounds correct.

The english MoT is exactly the same.

No.

Good luck, J

As a foot note S/S2/S3 ET numbers appear to be 20mm less.

Have board new tyres for them and tightened/gauged the spokes last year but I think they fit better on an older and less power car...

I have ET18 on my 7 x 18 my V8S.
I think they are slighty too inset.

Maybe there right ??

IMHO you'd expect ET35 for a 7" rim and ET29 for a 7.5" rim.
