O/T but how are you finding the Z900RS?
Its a great bike, I've not ridden it for a month but managed to get 1500 miles on it since buying it, I went in to buy a Z900RS but the Cafe was £1700 cheaper and a no brainer for what is essentially the same bike.It feels substantial, the Speed Twin and CB1000R I tried felt a bit toy like in comparison, I really like the styling.
Its not *fast* compared to my Z1000SX but its fast enough with around 115bhp, the brakes are top notch and the handling is great up to around 8/10th's, any faster and it loses a bit of composure but I didn't buy the bike to go 9/10th's or above, I'm getting to old for that on the roads now, but saying that I had no issues keeping up with faster/sportier bikes when having a bit of fun, it runs out of steam at around 130mph but will eventually hit 145mph but for most that will be irrelevant anyway, the bike is a pleasure to ride within the speed limits (ish) as the engine has lots of character and sounds fantastic with a proper old fashioned growl from the airbox and a surprisingly rorty exhaust, its fairly comfortable for a couple of hours or a tank of fuel, the cut down seat of the Cafe is a bit hard and I'm trying to find a Z900RS seat to replace it with which is around 50mm thicker, I've also rotated the bar risers to bring the bars an inch and a half closer to me which was an easy mod.
The electrics are fairly basic and it doesn't have c-abs like the ZSX had but the TC is great and the bike sounds awesome when the TC kicks in on slippery roads, I can't help myself provoking it as it goes brrrr....brrr...brrr...brrrap!
The OE tyres are rubbish though and will be replaced come spring time, overall I'd recommend one if you want a retro style bike that rides just like you'd expect a modern bike to ride, they are great value too compared to its competitors.

Thanks for that detailed answer. Got a Fazer just now but not commuting or touring any more so considering other options. It feels substantial, the Speed Twin and CB1000R I tried felt a bit toy like in comparison, I really like the styling.

2021 X-Adv

I friend of mine has had one of the previous model X-ADV for ages now, he absolutely loves it.TBH, it's disappointing how slow cruise control is being adopted by the motorbike industry, with ride by wire on almost everything it should be free to implement across the range.
