Afternoon all

I bought a new place and trying to figure out the best AV set-up for the space.

Only place I can put a TV up is on a bricked-up chimney breast. Can't build a false wall as I don't have much room to play with.

Ideally I'd like the TV and soundbar to be recessed which I am told will cost a couple of grand, but will look the neatest.

Alternatively I would be ok to wall mount the thinnest TV possible, any recommendations for a 48-50" OLED? Anything larger will look a bit silly - breast is about 150cm wide so a 55" will look out of proportion.

That would however mean also wall mounting the soundbar, which are a lot thicker than TVs, and would hurt my OCD. Is there another solution for the soundbar that I may not have thought of? Maybe only recess the soundbar? Would sound quality suffer?

I am quite wedded to Samsung but they still haven't moved to OLED technology.
Would LG be a good bet?
I'm trying to have as much Alexa-enabled stuff (Tado thermostat and radiator valves, smart bulbs, Echos, maybe a Yale lock), so anything Alexa enabled would be a plus.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

So the challenge is the electronics to amplify the sound.

If you can hide that then there are a number of shallow LCR soundbar's that are the same depth as tv's.

Even one or two that match the depth of the Samsung 'the frame' tvs.

I'm planning to have a 43" Frame in the bedroom but was looking for an OLED panel in the living room for future proofing (and for PS5/Xbox X gaming).

Best bet seems 48" LG CX OLED but struggling with the soundbar!

So, there are a few manufacturer who makes stereo or LCR (Left, Centre, Right) sound bars that are exactly the same size and depth as samsungs Frame TV's.

Not cheap and no electronics in them, so you need a seperate amp, but they certainly look stunning when matched to the TV.
