I am looking to get a new mobile that I can send and recieve email on easily. Have tried a Blackberyy and they are pants. Narrowed down to the Nokia or Treo.

Anyone have experience of either and can recommend?

Like the Treo but worried that the screen will easily get broken.

Can someone confirm that both phones (perhaps w additoinal bolt on s'ware) will offer "push" technology?

Cheers.

The Nokia definitely supports push mail, however you will need an extra app for it to work, of which there don't seem to be any at the moment, I'waiting (and I'm not alone) for this one for my 9500: www.openhand-mobile.com/

Not really much help here but I've just upgraded to the Sony Ericsson P910i and I have to say it is an amazing piece of kit - just entered my email server details and I can send receive them from my phone, I can use MSN messenger and I've been able to FTP to my webserver download an HTML file, edit it and upload it back to my webserver and then view the page on the phone's browser - all this on the phone - astounding.

HI Graham, How did u find the screen of the Treo 600 form the perspective of not breaking it? Looks like it may easily break in your pocket?

I managed to break 2 treo's but neither of them had any problems with the screen. ( i've had one since they came out)

the first one didnt bounce very well at 11 month old, and the second one has a problem with buzzing on the voice but again that only happened after it fell out of my pocket.

the desktop app with the treo is much better and usefull than the nokia thing..

And if you use Smartner's Duality software you can have 'push' email too just like a blackberry
