Hi , just wondering if anyone uses or has used a capture program called DScaler?. I've been using the program on and off for the past few years but never really used it that much, mainly because I find that it dosent really capture inputted video from an external VHS recorder to a PC (in my case a laptop). I decided to give it a go a few days ago and was surprised that I could get an inputted signal from the VHS recorder via a USB capture device that goes into the USB socket of the laptop, and I managed to do a few captures to avi format (I think that's the only format it captures as far as I know) and the image stability (lots of really worn and jumpy tapes) and quality seemed pretty good compared to other programs I've been using. But for some reason now I can't seem to get the audio working when I've captured a video, last night it was working fine but now it's not and I've tried all the settings but nothing. Seems that the program (for whatever reason) messes up some of the settings. Maybe it's the capture device that I'm using and that dosen't recognise it properly which is causing problems.
Up until recently I've been using Debut video capture (again a free program), but I find that the recordings are juddery. I think it's because it's really more for webcam recordings than external video capture.
