Just watched Robert LLewelyn's video on the MG 5 electric estate. I quite like it, but would spec different wheels...

I can't help but feel they've shot themselves in the foot but not fitting all the electronic safety rubbish that the ZS EV gets. From what I can see it's going to get at best 3 NCAP stars which will put s LOT of people off a family car.

Each device costs money and many people in reality are more concerned over price against safety measures. Think James from the Kate and James YouTube channel (have I got their names the right way round ?) got it right - this is probably the common taxi cab in a year or two time.

It is most certainly going to be a popular Taxi, might even replace the Prius.

We'll see I suppose. EuroNCAP seem to hava lot of influence over car buying, especially for family cars.

Probably less so for taxis, mind.

What's missing compared to the ZS?

Everything that turned the three-star ZS into the five-star ZS EV. I think:

Lane keep assist
Adaptive cruise control
Autonomous Auto braking
Rear cross traffic alert
Blind spot monitoring
Auto high beam

None of them would bother me particularly (although adaptive CC is nice), but they are what makes the difference on the NCAP tests these days.
