Help me find a gaming headset that works with Oculus Rift?

The obvious point would be, why not just use the rifts built in? Well I can't. I might have accidently broken off an ear piece years ago rendering it pretty useless for sound.

So for years I've been using a cracking little headset from Creative that sits on the ears but doesn't need to go over your head. Excellent audio and voice. Unfortunately it's now given up.

I've scoured around the usual places including Creative ( that headset is no longer made) but I'm not really seeing anything. It has to be a headset that will fit with the rifts top head strap on the top of my noggin.

Any suggestions?

Can you not just use in-ear headphones / mics?

I've got a set of these to go on a Quest 2:

Bionik Mantis VR Headphones

The sound is significantly better than the built in speakers, they are a tight fit on the Quest, but no idea how well they would fit the Rift.
