Ford e Transit announced in US

126 mile range, vs they claim 74 miles average use (I guess in USA this size van is only used for local deliveries/ usage)
Do like the onboard recharging for your power tools...
Lots of nanny technology to allow fleet managers to control drivers! Can limit acceleration etc.

Yeah, this popped up the other day. Looks good and should work well for a lot of customers here in the US. Range should be a little better though, since I understand an average delivery driver is likely to do more than 75 miles a day. Though with the availability of Ford dealers, it could be a compelling argument for some.
Have to say, pick-up sales are still giant here, but van sales are picking up. Was talking to a Ford sales person the other week - they sell every one they can get! Its still a fraction of pickup sales, but a growing market and the Ford badge does mean a lot to some. But they only sell the high-sider here, which is odd. I think they would sell a load of the normal ones, if it was available. You can get a normal sized one, but I believe as a passenger van only.

I think these will be popular.
I am north of the boarder but driving a transit is a complete pleasure after driving a econoline or.
Oh hell yeah! Had couple of U-Haul rentals - Nissan pickup, was awful, Econoline shady at best, Transit, positively nice to drive in comparison! How these Americans and Canadians have put up with these crappy things for so long puzzles me!I am north of the boarder but driving a transit is a complete pleasure after driving a econoline or.
You can even get the ecoboost V6 Turbo in the Transit!

You can specify that with a diesel Transit too. 126 mile range, vs they claim 74 miles average use (I guess in USA this size van is only used for local deliveries/ usage)

The last transit I drove had the V6 and it was an absolute monster. You can even get the ecoboost V6 Turbo in the Transit!
The econoline platform feels every bit as old as it is.
