Picked up the new 'best of' Rory Gallgher CD in tesco last night.
I have nearly all the songs already but the ones on the CD have been remastered and do sound clearer. Couple of unreleased tracks on too.
'Going to My Hometown' is fabulous as is 'Western Plain' and all the great tracks are on it.
If you like music, buy it.

Yes. I have a huge amount of respect for Rory (as has everyone who has ever heard of him it seems!). Having said that,I actually don't know a huge amount of his music but I do know that Irish Tour 74 is one of the greatest live albums ever if you like blues/rock. Some of his guitar work is jaw-droppingly awesome on songs like Cradle Rock and Walk on Hot Coals.

Used to have a triumph spitfire in my youthfull days, had an old 8 track player in it.. Rory Galagher Live in Europe was the constant music....
Got a TVR Chimaera now, and have updated to the CD version. Still get that great feeling driving around with the top off listening to Bulfrog Blues really loud...
