i've tried a k7 gsxr-750 which felt like a ride on toy and a 2010 r6 which felt better but still felt like i was sat on top of it rather than part of it. in contrast, the only other sports bike i have ridden is an s1000rr which felt spacious and more akin to what i am used to size wise [M100 evo].

i'm 6'1 and looking for something both me and the mrs [5'7 but needs a lower seat and less reach] can use. any pointers on what we should be looking at? she favours a cbr600rr, of which there is a 2013 model available locally. we will be buying second hand. i'd quite like an MV F3 but she hates the brand and is a stubborn little thing.

not too bothered about big power and i am willing to trade off torque as well as she is coming from a duke 390 and will not ride my evo at all. we both like the fact the cbr has a reputation of being more forgiving and friendly, but i do want something that handles well as the idea is to use it for track days with a view to perhaps endurance racing it together.

any ideas on what to look at? daytona 675r is also in the mix if i can find one.

I’m 6’2” and ride a 2004 ZX10R, albeit only for short periods. My daughter has been on the back, but doesn’t find it overly spacious. She is 5’7”.

My old 5PW R1 was much more comfortable.

Most comfortable pillion bike I’ve had was a Thundercat.

If I had to get a sportsbike and the main focus was comfort for a pillion and I then I’d definitely be getting an old one.

Edit: or a sports tourer. A big ZZR1400 or something.

Edit 2: just re-read your post. You can disregard most of what this idiot has written above! getmecoat

The Daytona and F3 are tiny, I’m a smidge under 6’ and loved my Daytona but it did get uncomfortable now and then.
The new Zx6r is meant to be quite spacious, according to lamb chop rides and neeves. Not ridden one myself.

How about a fireblade? They’re very spacious and despite being a 1000, they really are very user friendly and not at all intimidating.

What about the new Aprillia RS660?

(edit, you want a secondhand one)

An Aprillia RSV (V2) is a fairly roomy bike, I'm just under 6ft and found none of the modern sportsbikes comfy, the 5VY R1 was tolerable for a few hours, the 2014 'blade I tried was tiny and cramped, as were the GSXR's and R6's, the most comfortable was the 954 fireblade by a long long way.

I'm 6ft 4 and have had an 05 cbr600rr and 2014 gsxr 750 for track, both with aftermarket bars and rearsets.

The roomiest 600 I found was the current zx6r, it felt very roomy when sitting on it compared to others, I'd definitely recommend having a try.

Daytona 675 felt too small to me personally.

90s bikes are pretty big in size vs the modern stuff. I'm 6ft and ride a pretty ancient 98 gsxr600. You feel like you sit in it rather than on it if you know what I mean.

i found the f3 800 to fit me rather well, albeit just sat on one in a showroom.

i know what you mean about sat in rather than on, that's what i'm looking for. the gsxr feels like i'm perched on it like a pit bike.

a 954 blade may be a good idea. i'm looking at used bikes as i want something without electronic aids and as light as possible. as good a bike as possible without any euro 4 gubbins, so 05-06 at a guess.

aprilia is a good shout as i have a mate with one so we could both test ride. just i thought a 3 or 4 pot would be better for the purpose it needs to fulfil as i doubt the mrs would get on with the engine braking and low end lumpiness of a twin.
